To raise awareness that the body can resist weight loss (biological restistance), showing that obesity is a disease. We want to destigmatize this through the one thing that reinforces this stereotype, comedy.
BIOLOGY'S A JOKE
We’ll invite comedians who have lived through weight challenges to take the stage to perform routines around how obesity isn’t funny. Even performing sets from the POV of biological resistance.
Their sets will highlight the struggle of weight loss not being their fault, turning the frustration into understanding, helping people laugh at the unfairness of biology rather than at themselves.
We’ll host the event at Live at the Apollo, and stream it on video platforms.
Comedy Show: Biology's A Joke
We will launch the #BiologysAJoke on social media, asking people to destigmatize obesity through meaningful conversations and using humour.
As well as share snippets of our live comedy show.
